Jennifer Koonce- Owner - ALL STAR DIRECTOR
Jennifer is an alumni of James Madison University, and has two masters degrees from George Mason University in Special Education and Education Administration. She also has over 25 years experience in jazz, hip hop, and pom as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She was a founding member of the Old Dominion University Dance Team, and went on to dance on the George Mason University Dance Team while in graduate school. She has performed with Culture Shock DC, co-founded the Phenomena Hip Hop troupe, and was an original member of the Urban Moves Hip Hop Company.
Jennifer has been an aerobics instructor and master presenter for Gold's Gym and Sport Health, and has appeared and performed as a fitness expert in the "NBC 4 Fitness Expo", and featured in their promotional television commercials on NBC and directed/choreographed for the Sport Health Demo Dance and Aerobics Team. She has performed all over the world, she traveled to China to perform with Encore Dance Studios for the International Cultural Festival as well as a mulit-city tour in China to perform at different venues and openings for popular local artists.
Jennifer was the ten-year head coach for the Madison High School Dance Team, leading them to three national pom championship titles in Orlando, Florida. She won Best Choreography for the hip hop category at NDA Nationals for 2007. Her team was one of the top-rated jazz, pom, and hip hop dance teams in the DC Metro area, she also created their JV program to offer more opportunities for young dancers. She was named Coach Mentor of the Year in 2006 for Madison High School. Jennifer has choreographed for many high school teams in the area (Madison, Herndon, Langley, and more) and currently is the head coach of McLean High School Varsity Dance Team.
She has extensive experience in theater choreography - her credits include Chicago 2003 (winning Best Musical for 2003 at the Kennedy Center Cappies Gala), Chicago 2016, Fame, Annie, Honk, Pippin, Kiss Me Kate, Oliver, West Side Story, Parade, Urinetown, City of Angels, Putnam County Spelling Bee, Little Women, to name a few, and currently she is working on Langley's production of Gypsy! She has been the Kennedy Center Cappies Gala choreographer since 2004 and was the National Cappies Summer Theater Program Choreographer for 4 years. She continues to choreograph high school musicals in the area.
Jennifer founded Adrenaline Dance, Inc. in 2003 on her own as a company to inspire and teach kids how to perform and prepare them for their future in team environments in dance. As the company grew, she added All Star Adrenaline in 2007 as an all star competitive company. All Star Adrenaline dissolved after one year, and she rebranded the company as Adrenaline Dance Force becoming the LARGEST after school program in Fairfax, Falls Church, and Arlington County public school. With an amazing crew of instructors, it has grown to over 20 elementary schools and 3 community centers. Jennifer also directed and choreographed the All-Star Adrenaline Halloween Parade Float performance winning the prestigious award of "Best in Show" for 2008, and choreographed the Infinity All Stars group to winning "Best in Show" for 2009. While growing her after school company, Jennifer went on to work with All Star Legacy, and created and founded the CDC Stars All Star program at Creative Dance Center. With a 300% growth in 3 years, she decided to consolidate her talents and open ADRENALINE STUDIO in 2014. In the first year of competition, the Adrenaline Studio All Stars made top 5 at Dance Worlds in Orlando and was the only Competitive All Star program in Virginia to take 3 Bids to Worlds that year. Jennifer's programs have been Dance Worlds finalists every year since 2009. She established the first Virginia All Male Crew and was only one of four All Male Crews at its inception at Dance Worlds in 2013. Since then, Adrenaline has been the only long standing All Male program and the only one to expand to 4 All Male teams in one program spanning dancer age 7-27. Adrenaline is known for its male influence in the all star hip hop community.
Jennifer has choreographed for many organizations including; Washington Chiefs semi-pro league, George Mason Dance Team, Capitol Movement Project, Mystics Mayhem dancers, Washington Wizards Dance Team, NC State's Dance Team, and numerous high schools around the Metro area. Jennifer has taught for several local dance studios and has choreographed the Washington Wizards Dance Team auditions. She is a certified dance judge for NDA, Maryland Dance circuit, UPA Nationals, and has judged the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders and Wizards Dance Team auditions. She currently judges many high school dance team auditions in the area for some of the top programs. Jennifer also served as a board member of the Capitol Movement Project Dance Company in DC.
She was elected to the Regional Advisory Board for USASF in 2015, and currently serves as the Northeast National Advisory Board representative, and was just named the Northeast Representative for the newly created NASC (National All Star Council) for USASF - a newly rebranded group that will work combine the interests of cheer and dance coaches and owners throughout the all star industry.
Jennifer is excited to continue her vision for kids through competition and studio classes, bringing amazing opportunities to kids and challenge them to be the best athletes they can be. She loves her Adrenaline Family and has the most creative coaches in the country. She challenges you to Feel The Rush with Adrenaline!
Shelby Smith- ALL STAR DIRECTOR
Shelby is an alumni of Temple University with a Bachlors degree in health & physical education and a Masters from Wilmington University in School Leadership.
Shelby is trained in ballet, jazz, hip hop, and cheer. She is a former Temple University Cheerleader and NBA dancer for 15 years. She has danced with Kelly Clarkson, Outkast, Pit Bull, Kevin Rudolf, Ludacris. She has performed at numerous NBA & WNBA Allstar games, USA basketball games, and NBA International games. She also performed at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, 2008 Olympics in Beijing and 2012 Pre Olympic Tour in England. She is also a bronze medal winning cheerleading world championship winner.
Shelby coached high school dance for 11 years and is the founder of South Jersey Storm Dance Teams. She directed the South Jersey Storm for the last 7 years, starting with one team of 15 dancers and ending with 8-10 teams a season. She had a team present at the Dance Worlds Championships every year. In 2015 her teams won the silver medal in the large Senior Hip Hop division and in 2017, they won the gold medal in the US trails for the Open All Girl Division, Worlds Open Hip Hop Silver Medal, Worlds Small Senior Hip Hop fifth place, and Worlds Open Jazz tenth place!
She is super excited to join the Adrenaline family and bring her expertise to our amazing program.
Meghan Bressler Early - After School Program Director
A Stafford, Virginia native, Megs trained at the Barton and Williams School of Dance. She continued to perform and choreograph in college for the Dance Company of Virginia Tech. Megs realized early on that her passion for teaching was as big as her dream to dance. During her college summers she was a Universal Dance Association Head Instructor where she taught and judged competitions all over the country. During the school year she was a company director and teacher for the Dance.Tech Performing Arts Studio in Blacksburg, Va. After college Megs moved back up to Northern Virginia where she coached a local high school while teachingclasses at Metropolitan Fine Arts Center. Her desire to perform landed her a spot on the NBA Washington Wizards Dance Team and then the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders.
Mon "Monster" Tatlonghari
Mon began dancing as a teenager studying hip hop, break dancing, Latin/Rhythm dances, waltz, freestyle, and more! He started performing with the "3M's" in 2006, appearing in numerous events around Northern Virginia, Maryland, and DC. Mon teaches for several studios in the area, and found his natural gift of teaching and working with youth. He was a founder of "Flo-Dynamix" Crew. Mon is originally from the Philippines, and draws inspiration from his travels and experiences. Some of his greatest influences as a professional dancer have been from artists such as the Jabbawockeez, Micheal Jackson, and Philippine All-Stars. Mon currently coaches competitive hip hop teams at the Adrenaline Studio. His unique ability to teach young dancers sets him apart from other instructors. Leah is an instructor, coach, photographer, and videographer for Adrenaline. Born and raised in Norfolk, VA, Leah moved to Northern Virginia after graduating from George Mason University with a degree in Sustainable Marketing. She began tapping at the age of 2 and has since studied tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern, lyrical, and pointe. At 13, she began teaching creative dance, tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop to children, teens, and adults. While at GMU, she danced with the hip hop company - Urbanknowlogy. Leah joined our ADF family in 2013, teaching after school classes. She is an All Star coach for Adrenaline Studio, and the lead instructor for our Tiny Feet program. She is also the lead instructor of our summer camp "Dream Team" of instructors who make our summer camps magical. Camp with coach Leah is a fantastic experience.
Ranyell is a Reston, Virginia native! He has grown up dancing and performing in many venues and throughout his school career. He has attended Monsters of Hip Hop convention many times, and is an avid hip hop, ballet, jazz, and B-boy dancer. Ranyell competed on Jen's Senior Coed Hip Hop team, and has most recently competed on the FIRST All - Male Crew from Virginia to take the Dance Worlds stage in Orlando, Florida this past May, taking 3rd place in the Dance Worlds competition. Ranyell is a coach for All Star competition teams, and is excited to continue his adventures at Adrenaline Studios. Ranyell is most famous for being an unpredictable dancer - he often will try something NEW every practice! His infectious ability to engage his passion to his audience makes it impossible to take you eyes off of him when he performs.
Brianna Norwood has been dancing since the age of 3. She is trained in a variety of styles, including jazz, tap, ballet, pointe, hip hop, contemporary, and lyrical. Brianna moved to the DMV area to attend George Mason University in 2011, where she served as the captain of the George Mason Masonettes in her senior year. Brianna has trained at various studios throughout her life, including THE Debbie Allen Dance Academy, The Edge Performing Arts Center, Jenni Holley Dance Studio, and Centre Dance (Avid Dance Productions). Brianna teaches Jazz and technique as well as coaches All Star teams at Adrenaline.
Catherine Bacha, a Fairfax native, has been dancing since the age of 4. Trained in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, lyrical, pom and hip-hop. During her senior year of high school she was on the Herndon High Dance Team. She then went on to Shenandoah University to receive her Bachelors in Fine Arts in Dance. At Shenandoah, Catherine was a member of the “Sensations” Dance/Cheer team for two years and co-captains her last year. Catherine has been teaching since the age of 16 and continues to teach and spread her love of dance to her students of all ages. This is her first year with Adrenaline Studio and could not be more excited.
Rycki is currently studying at George Mason University where she is a member of the coed cheerleading team. She has been teaching with Adrenaline Dance Force for several years and teaches tumbling and cheer at Adrenaline Studio.
Shelley Siller grew up in Cape Coral, FL, where she studied Cecchetti ballet technique, jazz, tap, lyrical, and acrobatics at Pine Island Dance. During this time, she had the privilege to take classes from New York City Ballet principals Jock Soto and Melinda Roy at Gulfshore Ballet. After moving to the D.C. area, Shelley became a member of IMPACT under Candra Eglin and Kellie Payne, while continuing her Cecchetti training under Jennifer Meyer and Pamela Moore. After graduating, Shelley danced with Maryland companies MOVEiUS Contemporary Ballet and the National Ballet. Shelley currently dances professionally with Nomadic Artist and fusiondance, along with other freelance projects. Her solo and choreographic works with the companies have been critically acclaimed in the Washington Post and the Washington City Paper, along with many other popular theater blogs online.
A Graduate of Towson University in Baltimore, MD. Briana has received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. Briana began her love of dance at the age of 3 at Yokota Air Force Base, Japan. Growing up Briana has developed her passion under numerous dance studios in the D.C. Maryland and Virginia area such as Capitol Movement, Power Explosion, Sharon’s School of Dance, Strictly Rhythm and Dance Depot. While in high school Briana was the Captain of her Dance/Poms Team. During her time at Towson University as Dance Major, Briana has had the opportunity to perform and choreograph her own original works as well as work by Alvin Ailey, Vincent Thomas, Linda Denise Fischer Harrell, Robert Battle, Bill T. Jones in known works such as “Continuous Relay,” “Escapades,”” House of the Rising Sun,” just to name a few. While studying at Towson, Briana has had the pleasure of working with non-profit dance organizations such as Woodbridge Academy of Dance where she choreographed for numerous events as well as choreographing and teaching at other numerous local Dance Teams. After Graduation, Briana dance sing and train professionally with Cedar Point Live Entertainment, RWS and Associates, Chelsea Cooper, Holland America Cruise Lines, Christina Woodard, Laurie Thompson, Dancing with the Stars at Sea, Dancing with the Stars Horry County, Carnival Cruise Lines, Will Bell, Laura Edwards, and Nico O’Conner just to name a few. Briana continues her passion and ventures on land as one of the newest Talent under C.O. Talent Agency, teaching, choreographing and Dancing professionally .
Megan is a Woodbridge, Virginia native and has cheered for most of her life. She graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in 2011 where she was varsity cheerleading captain her senior year. Meghann was also a cheerleader for George Mason University where she is currently finishing her degree in Psychology and minor in Neuroscience. She has been with Adrenaline Dance Force for 2 years and is thrilled to be part of the Adrenaline Studio staff! Meghann teaches cheer and tumbling classes.
Holly grew up in Reston, VA and received her ballet training at the Reston Conservatory Ballet under the direction of Julia Cziller Redick. She attended summer ballet intensives at the School of American Ballet, Princeton Ballet, Southern Ballet Theatre (now Orlando Ballet) and Ballet Internationale. She has taken many master classes and trained with famous dancers and teachers from around the world. She attend Radford University where she trained with Frano Jelincic, Dagmar Kessler, danah Bella and Margaret Devaney and received a B.F.A. in Dance with a concentration in Classical Ballet.
Kiara is a graduate of Urbana High School in Frederick, Maryland. As a part of Urbana Dance Company, she specialized in hip hop and jazz, as well as the UHS Dance Program participating in many Drama Productions such as 'Hello, Dolly!', 'Beauty and the Beast', and her best-known performance as 'Cha-Cha' in 'Grease'. She has traveled and assistant taught for OMG! Dance Competition in Mexico, Disney Springs in Orlando, and many others. She competed with her high school and studio at the Maryland State Showcase, Showstoppers, and Norfolk Dance Showcase. She has choreographed and assistant coached at Urbana High School. Kiara aspires to be a professional dancer and is most excited for her newest adventure with Adrenaline as a dancer and coach.
Brittany was born and raised in Northeastern PA where she began her dance career. She is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and lyrical. Brittany graduated with her BA in Speech Pathology from West Chester University in 2012. During her four years in college, she was an active member of the West Chester University Dance Company. In addition to performing, Brittany has managed a dance studio in her hometown for 2 years as well as choreograph numerous pieces for National dance competitions, such as, Starpower, Jump, and Groove. Brittany moved from the Philadelphia area to Reston, VA and joined Adrenaline in January 2017 and is so excited to be a part of this awesome family!
Robel is very passionate about dance and has had training in all styles (ballet, jazz, modern contemporary & hip hop) HipHop is something very special in his heart. He was a competitor All Star dancer with Adrenaline's Coed Senior Hip Hop team Thunder Crew and Open All Male Rush Crew, he has trained with Family Matters & currently is a part of Culture Shock DC. Robel has taught dance conventions in Rock Hill, South Carolina and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with Gear Up dance convention, as well he teaches classes for collegiate dance teams. He looks forward to continue his training and is excited to work at Adrenaline.
Jaya Bond is a native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey where she was a high school MVP all star dancer for four years, coached by Shelby Smith. While in high school she studied dance at Halliday Dance in Pennsauken, New Jersey and Eleone Unlimited in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was trained in all styles including Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Contemporary, Tap, Hip Hop, and African. She continued to pursue dance and received her BFA in Dance from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. While at Mason she studied under several dance masters who danced for various companies including Alvin Ailey, Mark Morris, Alonzo King Lines, New York City Ballet and ABT, etc. Post graduation Jaya is a freelance dancer who performs with Project based companies including Terre Dance Collective, RawArts, and many independent artists. She is a choreographer and is pursuing her dance career. Jaya teaches Jazz and Hip Hop at Adrenaline Studio.
Chelsea has had the privilege of touring and choreographing for several artist such as The Roots, LL Cool J, Ludacris, Blu Cantrell, Lenny Kravitz, Missy Elliott and upcoming artists Dominique "Domo" Rosario and Alexis Valencia. She has also toured on staff and assisted for the National Dance Conventions "Monsters of Hip Hop" and "Monsters of Contemporary". Chelsea has had the privilege of dancing for Cirque Du Soleil and have also been on episodes of BET's "Wild N' Out" and America's Best DanceCrew, So You Think You Can Dance and DC 50 on the CW Network. She has Directed and Choreographed and Performed for commercial brands such as Under Armour, RJ Reynolds, Nike, Vitamin Water, Red Bull, Adidas and Finishline. Chelsea was the Visual Design Director for Culture Shock DC and Founder/Performer/Choreographer for one of the Nation's best all female dance Crew's, "Kickrocks Crew" along with being the founder and Director of Emerging Crew, NUCRU. Chelsea is a sought after Masterclass Instructor Nationally and Internationally having taught/Choreographed for major Universities, Studios and Professional Companies. She has developed concepts and choreographed shows, competitions and tours for studios and companies ranging from amateur to commercial corporate venues and arenas. She is a Metro DC Dance Award Winner for Best Emerging Performer and Best Emerging Choreographer. Chelsea is Currently a resident Artistic Director at Urbana Dance Hip Hop Department and Performing Arts as well as a resident Instructor at The Madeira School and Adrenaline All Stars for the 2017/2018 Season.
Janelle is a tumbling instructor originally from Richmond Virginia. She will be graduating from George Mason in May of 2018 with a Bachelors in Community Health and a double minor in Spanish and Biology with plans to enter the field of Health Promotion. She has 7 years of competitive gymnastics experience and 8 years of competitive cheerleading experience (high school, all-star, and collegiate). One of her favorite aspects of teaching tumbling is focusing on fundamentals and body control, while encouraging athletes to become stronger and more confident. Janelle also loves hip-hop dance, fitness, and conditioning which adds a fun twist to tumbling and dance tricking. A few of her favorite musical artists are Micheal Jackson, Chris Brown, and Justin Timberlake. She loves all things Pittsburgh Steelers, tumbling, and Adrenaline!
